Buckeye Brewing

Buckeye Brewing was founded in 1997 by Robert and Garin Wright.  Buckeye is currently located on the west side of Cleveland.  Garin Wright has been the Head Brewer since Buckeye’s inception.   In 1998 Buckeye released Hippie IPA which has become the flagship brand.

Bling Bling Pale Ale:
American-style Pale Ale
English pale malt, Torrified Wheat
Amarillo hops
6.5% abv

NOTES: When Garin Wright named Bling Bling, He did not know that Bling was a readily used term. He just felt the smile face should be named Bling.

Casey's Review:
This beer pours a bright golden color with a great ring of white lace all around the edges.  The aroma is crisp and clean with pungent Amarillo.  The flavor has a great hop flavor with an extremely nice bitter on the back end.

’76 IPA:
Imperial India Pale Ale
English pale malt
Centennial hops
8.0% abv

NOTES: ’76 was originally released as a 4th of July seasonal.  The original gravity of 1.076, the ‘Spirit of 76’, and the Centennial vibe were all part of its original design.  In 2001, 76 was spiced with orange peel.

Casey's Review:
The ’76 pours a deep gold with a nice slightly off white head.  Big pungent citrus hope with a slight earthy aroma.  The flavor is bitter and sweet with the bitter coming out on top balancing it just right.
